2010 W5YM University WeatherNet Washington County Spotter's Guide

After a very informative and successful spotter training class earlier this week, we are proud to offer the newly updated spotters reference guide for members involved in the W5YM University WeatherNet.  As of January 5th, new changes have been made regarding the criteria by which hail is classified as severe, and having this guide handy will help spotters accurately report "ground truth" conditions.

From the guide:

 "The Amateur Radio Community and all spotters in general provide an indispensable service to the National Weather Service and local communities."

Knowing the correct procedures will help us all communicate in an effective manner to the NWS in times of severe weather.
